An actor Yuta Takahata has arrested by the police for sexual assault. He did it at a hotel he stayed in Gunma. Yuta was one of a young and energetic actors. His mother was a famous actress Atsuko Takahata.
His mother apologized at a press conference this morning. I don't think the incident was her fault. Reporters asked harsh and insane questions. I really feel for the mother.
According to some newspaper, the Japanese government plans to send People’s Honor Award to a Japanese female wrestler Kaori Icho who won her fourth consecutive Olympic gold medal at the Rio Games.
Icho became the first woman to win gold in four consecutive Olympics in any individual event. I think she deserves to win the award. Three times Olympic winner Saori Yoshida already won the award in 2012.
I downloaded Mitch Albom's audiobook "The Five People You Meet in Heavn". It was one of my favorite English novels. The story is not so long. It's 4 hours and 40 minutes long. I could through it in three days. I think I'll listen to the audiobook several times.
I fallow many English learners on Twitter. I really admire them. Even though they are busy for work, they spend lots of time as much as they can.
On the other hand, I'm lazy for studying English, but seriously I want to be good at English. Only thing I'm doing now is listening to English audiobooks. I should do more for it. I'm kind of flustered.
The 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games came to an end. In the closing ceremony, Tokyo held an eight-minute presentation and it was really nice.
Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe emerge from a large green pipe with Nintendo character Mario costume. Media said it was the best part of the whole ceremony. I think it was really nice and funny. Tokyo 2020 would be a wonderful event.
I'm listening to Murakami's "The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle" with Audible. The story is 26 hours lond and I'm at 23 hours now.
I once read the novel, but I didn't remember the story. The story is a typical Murakami. I enjoy the world, but I can't understand the meaning of each episodes immediately. Maybe, when I finish it, I would feel something from the novel.
Japan's 4×100 relay team took silver medal in Japan's new record time 37.60 at the Rio Olympics. Tha last runner Cambridge got the baton about the same time as Bolt and powered with full speed. He finally grabbed silver after Bolt and Jamaica. Japanese athletes took the first silver at Olympic track in a sprinting event.
Watching the event on TV, I was really excited about the performance. No one in the Japanese team has a sub-10 time for the 100m, but every runner did really well especially the handovers at the race.
AP said on the web "Usain Bolt and Jamaica wins gold in relay _ and a Jamaican-born sprinter helps Japan win silver".
